About Sakhmet
My name is Sakhmet, founder of Sakhmet's Care.
I am an educator, researcher, therapist and teacher of consciousness, integrating energy medicine, sound, ancient wisdom and contemporary understanding within a holistic framework that supports the whole person. While healing modalities are the tools I use, my deeper purpose is to help people understand themselves more fully—emotionally, physically, mentally, energetically and spiritually.
I do not believe healing is something that is done to another person. Instead, I create the conditions in which people experience profound relaxation, greater self-awareness and a renewed connection with themselves. My role is to facilitate that process with compassion, curiosity and respect, empowering each individual to reconnect with their own innate capacity for healing, growth and transformation.
For more than 27 years, I have dedicated my life to supporting people on their journey towards greater wellbeing, emotional resilience, self-awareness and spiritual development.
My Journey
My journey into holistic medicine began after a life-changing accident left me semi-paralysed and unable to speak. Faced with limited progress through conventional treatment alone, I turned to complementary therapies. Acupuncture became a turning point in my recovery and completely transformed the way I understood health and healing.
That experience also reconnected me with my Jamaican roots. As a child, I watched my grandmother care for family and neighbours using herbs and natural remedies. Long before I trained professionally, I had already witnessed the intelligence of nature and the body's remarkable ability to restore itself when given the right support.
Since beginning my professional journey in 1999, I have continued to study, practise and teach holistic medicine, combining lived experience with ongoing research and professional development.
My Approach
Throughout my career I have been fascinated by the meeting point between science and spirituality.
My work is informed by anatomy and physiology, nervous system regulation, sound, vibration and the emerging understanding of the human biofield, while also drawing inspiration from the wisdom traditions of Ancient Egypt, meditation, sacred geometry and the study of consciousness.
Rather than seeing these perspectives as separate, I believe they offer complementary ways of understanding the human experience. Science helps us explore the mechanisms of the body, while spiritual traditions invite us to explore meaning, awareness and our relationship with ourselves and the world around us.
Every healing modality has taught me something unique. Whether I am working with sound, energy medicine or meditation, I take time to understand not only how a practice works but also how it is experienced by the people I support. This commitment to continual learning shapes every programme I teach and every client session I facilitate.
Supporting People to Heal
Over the years I have worked with individuals, families, practitioners, women's groups and organisations throughout the United Kingdom and internationally, both in person and online.
I support people experiencing emotional overwhelm, burnout, unresolved childhood experiences, major life transitions and spiritual exploration. Increasingly, I also work with people living with serious health conditions who are seeking complementary emotional and relaxation support alongside their medical care.
Alongside one-to-one guidance, I train practitioners in Sekhem Healing, Sound Healing with Tuning Forks and professional personal development. I previously taught Reiki and Crystal Healing, and these experiences continue to inform my wider understanding of holistic practice.
Teaching is one of the greatest privileges of my work. My aim is never simply to teach techniques but to help students understand the principles behind them, develop confidence in their own abilities and practise with integrity, compassion and responsibility.
Sound, Consciousness and Ancient Wisdom
Sound has become one of my greatest teachers.
Through Sound Baths and therapeutic tuning forks, I have witnessed the profound effect that vibration can have on relaxation, emotional regulation and self-awareness. Many people describe leaving sessions feeling calmer, clearer, more balanced and better able to navigate life's challenges.
My work with Sekhem Healing is equally influenced by the wisdom traditions of Ancient Egypt, sacred geometry and the exploration of consciousness. These teachings encourage personal reflection, responsibility and inner transformation while providing a meaningful framework for those who resonate with this path.
Although these traditions inspire my work, my focus always remains on the individual sitting in front of me. Every person arrives with their own story, their own challenges and their own capacity for change.
My Commitment
After more than 27 years in practice, I remain as passionate about this work as the day I began.
I continue to study, research and evolve because I believe learning never truly ends. Every client, every student and every new discovery deepens my understanding of what it means to support another human being with compassion, integrity and respect.
Whether you are seeking emotional healing, professional training, spiritual development or simply a safe space to pause and reconnect with yourself, it would be my privilege to walk alongside you for part of your journey.
Healing is not about becoming someone different. It is about remembering who you were before life asked you to forget.
